A tricycle driver and three motorcycle riders were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
According to police, the white SUV crashed into a concrete barrier before plowing through several vehicles at the corner of United Nations and Taft Avenues.
Ten vehicles, including five motorcycles, a tricycle and two cars, were damaged.
The SUV driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to a mechanical glitch, according to the owner of the vehicle.
The driver was not under the influence of alcohol, the owner said, adding that the SUV’s brakes “suddenly malfunctioned.”
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and rescue teams assisted in road clearing following the smashup.gambit city
