Bela Padilla opened up about her weight-loss journey, admitting it is “challenging” for her because of her polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and hypothyroidism diagnoses.

The actress spoke about this while showing herself on a weighing scale, through her Instagram Stories on Monday, Nov. 25.

“I was 63kgs when I arrived,” she began, apparently referring to her weight after her recent trip in South Korea.

“Working out intensely four to five times a week and eating almost nothing. Now I’m at 57.1kgs (still not my usual 50 to 53 but I’ll take it),” she added.

Padilla then shared her current routine which includes stretching and breathing exercises in the morning, consultation with her doctor, taking supplements and eating clean.

“What works for most people might not work for you. I used to tire myself out in the gym but it was stressing me out more which was making me bloat,” she stated.

“My hypothyroidism and PCOS are making things challenging but I never back down from a good challenge,” she stressed.

In 2023, Padilla opened up about how she regarded her health as one of her top priorities.

“As we mature, we have to be more mindful about our intake. I’m careful with my diet not only to make myself look aesthetically good, but to also improve the quality of my life,” she said at the time.

“You have to take care of yourself to be able to take care of others. That’s a fundamental thing. We Filipinos like to take care of our families and friends, but you can’t pour from an empty cup,” she added.
