It’s been a little over a hundred years since the advent of Philippine cinema, and for half of that time, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has been part of developing the industry as well as reflecting the social and cultural zeitgeist.

Many of the films that now make up Philippine cinema’s pantheon of greats were entries in the annual film festival. And so for the festival’s 50th anniversary, a special screening featuring 50 of the most iconic films from the past 50 years can once again be seen in selected cinemas nationwide, for tickets that cost only P50.
